Mary Eleanor Degrazio

DEGRAZIO (nee DEAN), Mary Eleanor (Molly) - June 21, 1931 – August 4, 2019 Molly passed away in Kelowna on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Molly was born on the family farm near Langbank, SK and enjoyed sharing stories of growing up there with her two siblings, each 9 years apart in age, with Molly in the middle. She developed a love for horses at a young age sharing many stories of how she and her brother Bill rode horses bareback to and from school, and how they would travel to visit their older sister Kae in Regina. As a young adult, Molly became a teacher and eventually a Health Nurse. Initially Molly trained in Moose Jaw, SK to become a Registered Nurse and later attended UBC to become certified as a Health Nurse in BC. This led Molly to Golden where she met and married her late husband Joe Degrazio before eventually moving to Kelowna. They cared deeply about their communities and offered their time freely when they resided in Golden and Kelowna, and elsewhere in their adventures as they travelled North America in their fifth wheel. Molly loved to learn and to share her experiences and knowledge. She enjoyed reading, travel, and art (particularly handcrafted pieces). She was quick with her wit and loved a great debate. Molly’s tenacity for life will be missed by many. Molly is survived by her brother Bill (Gladys), nephew Chris, niece Karla (Cory), as well as many loved ones from the Degrazio family. Molly was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Joe) Degrazio and older sister Kathleen (Kae) Anderson. Those wishing to remember Molly may make a donation to their favorite charity.
