Charles Delwyn Hall

Charles Delwyn Hall June 17, 1939 – November 7, 2018 Charlie passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 7th, 2018 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged in Kenora, ON, at the age of 79. Originally born in North Bay, ON, Charlie was a long-term resident of Kenora where he raised a large, loving family. Charlie is predeceased by his son Alan and grandson Ryan. He is survived by 8 children: Brian (Cathy), David, Kirby, Gary, Bruce, Lori-Anne (Les), Michelle and Michael; his daughter in law Heather and his grandchildren: Melissa, BJ, Odin, Kayla, Krystal, Brett, Trent, Jessica, Mathew, Jenn, Richard, Rachel, Jeri, Cassandra, Xena, David and Crystal; he also leaves behind many great-grandchildren. Throughout his lifetime, Charlie enjoyed multiple jobs including working in the Airforce and CP rail, and eventually driving taxi for CO-OT where he stayed until retirement. When his grandchildren were young he was known to everyone in the neighbourhood as Grandpa Charlie. He had a great sense of humour and would always open his door to those in need. Charlie had a passion for reading, and it wasn’t unusual for him to read multiple books in one day. He also loved fishing, hunting, bingo and cheering on the Blue Jays and, of course, the Maple Leafs. As per Charlie’s wishes a private celebration of life will be held for immediate family. The family would like to thank the staff at Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Pinecrest Home for the Aged for the wonderful care provided to Charlie over the last couple years.
