Obituary of John Lawrence Redsky Jr.
John Lawrence Redsky Jr. August 2, 1959 – March 6, 2018 Our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin, friend John Lawrence Redsky Jr. age 58 years of Shoal Lake #40 First Nation peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre. Dad enjoyed reading the Bible, watching the Miracle Channel and hockey – his favorite team being the Winnipeg jets. He was a goalie for the Shoal Lake Flyers. His favorite socks were farmer socks. He played chess a lot with his brother. He loved Star Trek – no one was allowed to touch the remote during that time. Dad’s favorite gospel song was Amazing Grace. He was predeceased by his parents John Lawrence Redsky Sr., Evelyn Fair and Barbara Redsky, as well as his grandson Reddeou Corbin Lee Land Redsky Cameron. He is survived his children Shannon Maracle, Lauren Redsky, Katrina Redsky (Marvin), Keenan Redsky, Sunshine Redsky (Tarl), Harley Gutknecht, Candy Redsky(Adam), Bonnie Redsky. His siblings Vernon Fair (Lorraine), Leslie Fair (Marilyn), Earl Fair, Gerald Redsky, Kelvin Redsky (Georgina), Lamont Kabestra, Agnes Redsky, June Allard(Fair), Thelma Fair, Leeann Redsky, Darlene Oshie, Nellie Kabestra. His grandchildren Chloe, Lilliana, Marvin Jr., Leo, Lil Anna, Tavon, Harmony, Tiana, Karter, Nevaeh, Nylah, Lil John and Camila. Special Acknowledgements to Kelvin and Georgina Redsky, his ex-wife Anna, the medical staff in Kenora and Thunder Bay, also John’s loving nieces, nephews, cousins, too numerous to mention. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his siblings. Pallbearers will be Josh Redsky, Lorne Redsky, Kavin Redsky, Leroy Redsky, Clayton Redsky and Ian Redsky. Wake service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at the Ojibway Heritage School Gymnasium in Shoal Lake. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Frank Kowal officiating. Interment will follow at Shoal Lake # 40 First Nation.
