Obituary of Kevin Richard Peters
Kevin Richard Peters was born on October 17, 1981 and passed away on July 8, 2019 at the age of 37. He was married to his Beloved wife of 12 years Gina Peters. Loving father to ‘sweet cake’ Somyah Peters; also, he leaves behind his beloved children, Merlin Assin, Avril Assin and Rhianna Assin. Kevin is predeceased by his mother Tina Peters and his daughter Kailene Assin. A big shout out to my First Nations Niisaachewan and Bearskin Lake First Nation for all their help and support. My husband had battled with Alcohol for most of his life. But beyond that he was a loving, sensitive, caring and full of humour husband that dearly loved me and his daughter very much, he also cared for his friends as well for all his family in Bearskin Lake. My husband was very artistic and did a lot of paintings, and the apple of his eye was his wood working, he had special skills in making planes, incense holders and eagle feather boxes. We spent many days as a family of being in the comfort of our home where we resided in Nisaachewan First Nations. We had game nights from which I’ll always cherish our laughter together. My husband was an all time winner of Scrabble, an ultimate fan of Sons of Anarchy, and did his best to be a husband to me and an awesome father to our only child. His focus at the time with us was our daughter Somyah. He loved her so much and he did his very best looking after her while I was working, he cooked, cleaned and supported me whenever I needed it. Sure, gonna miss his awesome chicken soup and mashed potatoes. He also loved the Lord Jesus and we always used to have conversations about our Lord, we as a family had morning prayers and as our sweet cake would go to bed, we’d all go in her room and pray together. Wake services will be held at Jubilee Church on Thursday, July 11, 2019 beginning at 12:00pm and his Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Frank Kowal will be on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 am, with cremation to follow. A special thank you to the Marine Unit and the Lake of the Woods Hospital and their staff of all their help and support.
