In Loving Memory of Roland Richard Witzke It is with the deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our wonderful, dearest brother Roland Richard Witzke. Roland passed away on a bright sunny morning on February 25, 2019 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. He was born on January 8, 1956 in Kenora, Ontario and resided here his entire life. Roland was predeceased by his parents Edward and Hilda Witzke and grandparents Rudolf and Julianne Witzke. He is survived by his four brothers and three sisters, Marlis and Terry Sedesky and children Kristin (Jason) Bowlin and Jason (Claire) Sedesky, Rudy and Lynn Witzke (Sara, Joey, Gary), Fred Witzke, Rosemary (Glen) Weare and children Matthew and Ashley (Aaron Pochailo), Karen Hamp (Scott Coffey) and children Morgan (Rick) Kiefer and Jordan, Rick Witzke, David and Darla Witzke and children Noah and Macey. Also survived by his great nephews and nieces, Sam, James, Jack, twins Johnathon and Grace, Tristen and baby Ayla, he also leaves behind his cousins in Germany. Roland was a partner in W5 Logging Company with his four brothers, working his entire career with his brothers and father. Roland was a kind and thoughtful man especially to his family. He was an avid Maple Leaf Fan in winter and Toronto Blue Jay fan in the summer. Roland’s family would like to thank Dr. J. Kroeker and staff, the chemo department nurses or their kindness and care of Roland these past six months, also thank you to the doctor and nurses at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital this past weekend. Private family service will take place Saturday, March 2, 2019.
