Betty Jo (Masterson) Zimpleman

Betty Jo (Masterson) Zimpleman, 90, of Kokomo passed away at home Sunday, May 5. She was born April 18, 1929 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Leroy and Wilma Ruth (Eytcheson) Masterson. She graduated from Fulton High School. Betty married Dean Zimpleman in 1950 and they were together until his passing in 1992. She worked in the Lafayette Park School Cafeteria for many years. Betty was a faithful and longstanding member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kokomo, where she enjoyed being a part of various church events. She regularly met a group of particularly special friends for breakfast and conversation. Betty was an avid sports fan loyal to her favorite basketball teams - the IU Hoosiers and the Indiana Pacers. She also enjoyed watching the Cubbies win baseball games and never missed Tiger Woods in action. She had a special fondness for the Indianapolis Colts as well. Betty loved her family above all else as is evident by the immense display of school photos and other pictures that have always adorned her refrigerator. She is survived by her children, Gary (Jackie) Zimpleman of Kokomo, Mark (Susan) Zimpleman of Kokomo, Ron (Vivian) Zimpleman of Indianapolis, and Deena (Cliff) Grammer of Kokomo; grandchildren, Kristy (Kevin) Stoll, Tawni (Scott) McKay, Kayla (Sam) Horoho, Emily (Jeremy) Shoemaker, and Andrew (Stephanie) Grammer; great grandchildren, Madison McKay, Kaitlyn McKay, Ryleigh McKay, Hannah Stoll, Jenna Stoll, Bryson Shoemaker, Kami Shoemaker, Mia Sutherland, Kate Sutherland, Ava Horoho, Noah Horoho, Maelee Adams, and Mollee Grammer; brother, Don (Alice) Masterson of Lafayette. Family will receive friends Saturday, May 11 from 10am-1pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, with funeral to follow at 1pm. Betty Jo will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 1518 Faith Rd, Kokomo, IN 46901.
