Obituary of Gerald J. Procknow
Gerald J. Procknow (Jerry) Jerry went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 18, 2019 at the age of 89. Jerry’s smile and laughter lit up the room and he had a kind word for everyone. He was born on June 18, 1930 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. He had been a resident of Lansing all his life and was a graduate of Eastern High School in 1949. He served in the Air Force as a communication specialist in Japan. He married Pauline C. Woloshyn on her birthday, August 30, 1953 at MSU Alumni Chapel. They were married for 54 years. He worked for 42 years at the Lansing State Journal. He was a long-time genealogist and antique collector, he enjoyed watching football, fishing, his flower garden, volunteering at Ingham Hospital, Hospice, and Ingham County Prison. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, his father Otto and mother Edith, brother Richard and sister Hilda Jane. He is survived by his daughter Dr. Susan Borg and son-in-law Dean Borg, and his granddaughters whom he adored, Katherine and Olivia Borg of The Woodlands, Texas; his sisters Betty Fuller and Joyce Lintemuth as well as nieces and nephews and many friends, including dear friend Connie Vela. The visitation will be held on Friday, October 25 at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home on Michigan Avenue in Lansing, Michigan. The interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
