Isabel Urgel Lelis (Nanay/Sabel)

With a deep sense of sorrow, our family announces the passing of our mother and grandmother, Isabel U. Lelis (Nanay), on May 3, 2019 at the age of 91. Isabel was born in Hilongus, Leyte, Philippines. She raised her family in Nasipit with her husband Abraham Sr.; who later passed away suddenly on May 5, 1967. Isabel and her youngest daughter were petitioned to come to Canada by Isabel’s oldest daughter, Genoveva and arrived in Leduc, Alberta, Canada in 1982. She lived a happy and full-filled life with family and close friends. Isabel is survived by her daughters, Susana (Lloyd) and Leonora; her grandchildren, Cathy (Jeremy), Mark (Birte), Steward, Benjie, Bengee, Christian; daughter-in-laws, Gloria and Luz; son-in-law, Hermes and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews back in the Philippines. In addition to her husband Abraham Sr., Isabel was predeceased by her daughter, Genoveva, her sons Ben, Abraham Jr. and her great grandchild Jade. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends wish, a memorial donation in Isabel's honor may be made to the Mazankowski - Heart & Stroke Foundation.
