IN THE CARE OF
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel
WEST COLUMBIA – Beloved mother and grandmother, Carol J. Rivenbark, was called to Heaven by her Maker to live peacefully ever after on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Surrounded by family, Carol peacefully joined her late sister, Shirley Baronowski.
Carol was born in Virginia on October 12, 1942 and is survived by her daughter, Tamatha (Donald) Nates and son, John (Tonia) Rivenbark II; cherished grandmother to (Tamatha and Donald’s children) Catheryn Ann, Donald Woodrow, Cayla Nicole and to (John and Tonia’s children) Destiny Hope, Sarina Ruth, and John William III.
Carol worked for the State of South Carolina with the Department of Juvenile Justice for almost 19 years. She enjoyed helping others and supporting those who rehabilitate the children of South Carolina. However, her proudest moments of her life are surrounded by her family’s accomplishments. Carol had a beautiful soul; so giving and full of love for her family. She loved poetry, owls, flowers and her cherished friends. Before she passed, she asked me to include a message to her best friends, Peggy Sease and Bonnie Martin. She cherished your friendship very much and hoped you knew how much she cared for you both.
The Memorial Service with family visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington. This service celebrates the pure love of a mom. While we may have teased her for always hovering nearby, the truth is that her constant presence made us feel safe and loved unconditionally.
