Obituary of Bonnie K. Waite
Bonnie K. Waite, age 88, was born in Springfield, MA on May 11, 1931, and went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2019. Bonnie was the beloved wife of the late Frank W. Waite, Jr.; most loving mother of F.Wesley (Janice) Waite III, Melanie (Don) Furland, Valerie (Kelly) Moon, and Susan (Danny) Fishkin Messier; adoring grandmother of Jennifer (Sean) Piszczek, Jason (Erin) Waite, Eric Waite, Carter Furland, Addisyn Furland, Logan Moon, Landon Moon, Lindsey Moon, Aaron (Kelly) O'Brien, and Christopher O'Brien; most adoring great-grandmother of Emmy, Brynn, Brooke, Miles, Benjamin, Elijah, and Eliana; cherished sister of the late Georgiana (late Woody) Williams; dear daughter of the late Leonard James & Marion Lila Kelley; unforgettable aunt; caring cousin; fond friend of many; and her loving caregiver Jonalyn. Bonnie was extremely loving and generous with her family and friends. Bonnie was very proud of her younger years as a professional roller skater. She and her dance partner Allan, as well as her skating group, competed and brought joy to many with their performances. She was also very proud of her Stand-In-Role for June Allison in the movie Strategic Air Command. Her most passionate and fulfilling achievement was her love for singing with her chorus Sweet Adeline's, Choral-Aires. She sang and competed for over 30 years and traveled through out the United States for international competitions, receiving many awards and medals. After chorus, she lived at Carillon adult retirement community, where she made many friends, enjoying ceramics, playing board games and cards. She also loved volunteering at the community church. Bonnie was a lifelong Cubs fan who was thrilled when they won the World Series. For the last six years of her life, she loved living at Senior Star Assisted Living. She cherished her nurses and care partners, enjoyed making many friends, Wii Bowling, Bingo, and playing Rummikub. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday September 15, 2019 from 1 PM to 3 PM at Senior Star at Weber Place 605 Edward Dr., Romeoville.
