Obituary of Louise Maggitt
This is not an ad for a pawn shop but a biography of a beautiful and amazing woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Louise "Nana" Maggitt was know for her comical stories and keen sense of humor. Her Faith in God and undying love for her family was stronger than her battle with her health. Nana leave behind a dysfunctional family whom she was proud of and loved dearly. She was forthright with her opinions and had a knack for telling it like it is. Everyone knew where they stood with her. She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her daughter and granddaughters who neither of them knows what to do with it. Her favorite thing to tells us was we were her favorite girls! Louise Maggitt; born June 10, 1950 in Bruce, Mississippi: was called home on August 27, 2019 at the young age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene P. Harris and Amie l. Lee and sister Linda J. Evans. Louise accepted Christ and Baptized at Community Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL on December 28, 1975 to Pastor Lowell Torgeron Jr. She later attended Calvary Church of Naperville from Spring of 1996 to Summer of 2019. Louise graduated from Austin High School in 1968 and received her Associates Degree in Applied Science of Graphic Arts from the College of DuPage in March 2002. Louise then furthered her career as an educator. After 21 years as an Administrative Assistant, she retired on June 25, 2019 from College of DuPage, leaving behind a slew of close friends and memories. Louise met her husband, John, in May 1968 and they immediately formed an inseparable bond. They solidified their bond in Holy Matrimony on March 27, 1971. They traveled the world and enjoyed each others' company for 51 years and thereafter until she was called home by the Lord. Louise was a woman who spoke the truth despite how you may feel. But she always sealed that truth with a Kiss. she was a woman of faith that was genuine to a fault. She had the heart of a lion and the spirit of a warrior. She would go the distance for everyone she lobed and believed in. Louise leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, John Maggitt; her daughter, Stacey Maggitt: 1 brother; Leonard Harris (Beverly); 3 granddaughters, Cierra Maggitt, Candance Harris and Caisi Harris; 2 great-grandchildren, Kamryn Smith and Kyndi Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews and a very close friends. A Memorial Service will be from 4pm-5pm on September 5, 2019 at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, IL 60532.
