Imre Schmidt

SCHMIDT, Imre- Peacefully passed away on Friday March 1, 2019 at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig in his 84th year. Predeceased by Mary Ann and by his parents Imre and Gizella. Devoted father of Eva, Elizabeth and Imre Jr.(Paula). Dear grandfather of Natasha (Dave), Devon, Kayla, Mariah and great-grandchildren Preston and Aubrey. Imre leaves behind his siblings Ernö, Antal, Joseph and Gizella. Imre was very proud of his Hungarian Heritage. He enjoyed socializing at Cherryhill Mall with his fellow Hungarians, passionate about soccer, positioned as goalie and refereed in London for many years. Imre was an avid Toronto Leafs fan, took many bus trips to various Casinos and loved attending hockey games. Imre loved spending time with his family, continuing to make everyone laugh with his thick Hungarian accent and always being the life of the party. Thank you to the staff of Craigwiel Gardens for their kindness and compassion towards Imre. A funeral visitation for Imre will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St. London, ON, N6B 1W6) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. In memory of Imre, donations made out to the Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
