Russell Bruce Grant

GRANT, Russell Bruce Russ Grant, owner of DSD Safety Sales Ltd., passed away on Thursday February 7, 2019 at the age of 74. Russ was born in Lachine, Quebec on September 10, 1944 to Nelson Aubrey Grant and Nora Duncan Grant. He was married in 1965 to Sandra Elaine Harding, the mother of his 2 sons. She passed away in May of 2006 and he got a second chance at love and married Debbie May Gable in August of 2008. Together they celebrated life to the fullest, which even included going on a few cruises and many visits to Texas . Even though his family is great Russ really enjoyed his and Debbie’s date days and nights. Russ was a very responsible business man right up to the very day he passed. His philosophy has always been that if you treat your customers “right” you can’t go wrong. Business always came first. His customers loved seeing and talking with Russ as he could tell some “Dilly Stories”. Debbie and the crew will continue to take care of the business. Survivors include his wife Debbie, his sons Danny and Darrell Grant, his step-children Tim, Angie, Karen and Shelley whom he treated as his own; his 10 grandchildren and great granddaughter Paisley. His siblings Brenda (Len) Barrett of B.C., Kenny (Betty) Grant of Ottawa, Sandra (David) Kimsey of Oklahoma, Duncan (Bonnie) Grant of London, Darlene (Bill) Jordan of Texas. He is also survived by Debbie’s siblings Judy(rick) Barker of Waterloo, Darlene (Guy) McAllister of Kitchener and Donna of Kitchener and his many nieces and nephews as well as other family members and many friends. Russ’s family wishes to thank everyone at the Moose Lodge 6 Weston St., London, The Knights of Columbus, Ottawa and the V.F.W. post 4011 of Greenville, Texas for their many years of Friendship. Visitation will be held at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St., London) on Monday February 11, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and the funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 12, 2019 at 11 am in the chapel.
