Marilyn LeMay Scales

Marilyn Jo LeMay Scales, 68, of Memphis, TN passed away the evening of October 6, 2019. She was a devoted employee of Kemmons Wilson where she worked as an accountant for over two decades. It was here that she made life-long friends, many of whom she remained in touch with after retirement. Marilyn spent her leisure time enjoying the things and people that she loved. She visited family frequently and was an avid traveler to exotic places. She loved to cook and bake for others. Often, you could find her indulging in the hobby that made her the happiest, reading. Marilyn read countless books throughout her lifetime. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father- Jack LeMay, her mother-Jo Ann LeMay, and her youngest daughter, Amy “Mimi” Scales. Left to mourn her are her sisters- Donna Melton, Linda Saunders (Ames), Brenda Barnett (Mark) and Betty Adams (Bo); her oldest daughter- Audrey Schaar (Carey); her six grandchildren- Christopher Scales (Meagan), Gage Scales, Jeremy Schaar (Blair), Logan Schaar (Naomi), Katelan Haas (Ryan), and Triston Scales (Erin); four great-grandchildren- Wyatt Robinson, Liam and Jameson Haas, and Logan Schaar, Jr; close friend- Bill Harris, and countless other family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be missed by all those who knew her. The family will host a Memorial Gathering with Catered Reception from 4:00p.m until 6:00p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN.
