Obituary of Asa Ron Swinney
Asa Ron Swinney, born August 5, 1968 in Odessa Texas to Ronnie Glenn and Janet Loy [Rodgers] Swinney, passed away on June 30, 2014 at the age of 45 in Mesa, Arizona. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and a great friend to all who knew him. After graduating from Odessa High School in 1986, Asa attended ATS Heavy Equipment/Crane School to receive his certification as a Crane Operator; he then went on to the University of Washington where he received his certification as an OSHA Trainer. Asa was an HSE Professional by trade and was certified with the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCCO), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a Trainer and was a Registered Safety Officer (RSO). He worked for many places throughout his career such as the Rockford Corporation in Tempe, AZ as a Facilities Manager, Grand Canyon Residential Services in Mesa, Arizona as a General Manager in charge of home repairs and remodels and the Peak Oilfield Services in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska where he worked on the Alaskan Pipeline as a Heavy Equipment Operator and a Behavior Safety Facilitator. Asa was of the Christian faith and always put others first and would make time to help children in need as well as the homeless; he attended Mission Community Church, 4450 Elliot Rd, in Gilbert, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Asa Lloyd and Par [Lee] Rodgers; paternal grandparents Raymond and Nancy Jane [Carpenter] Swinney as well as his father Ronnie Glenn Swinney and is survived by his mother Janet Rodgers Swinney of Mesa, AZ; his sister and brother-in-law Latayne Swinney Beauford and Chris Beauford of Mesa, AZ; his brother and sister-in-law Ray Evans Swinney and Arlene Tucker Swinney, of Mesa, AZ; his aunt Monica Jo Rodgers of Mesa, AZ; aunt and uncle Jane Ellen and Charles Edward Dodson of Valley Creek, TX and uncle and aunt Mike and Othelia Swinney of Odessa, TX. Asa is also survived by his nephews Dach Reigner Beauford, Steel Ryder Beauford and Neal Ryan Swinney of Mesa, AZ; his nieces Brittany Carl of Royce City, TX and Halle Nichole Swinney of Mesa, AZ; great nephews Mason Carl and Christian Scott Carl and great niece Haden Carl of Royce City, TX as well as his cousins Charla Jo Dodson and Ted Rodgers Dodson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Raynette Manning of Odessa, TX and David Michael Swinney Jr., of Midland, TX. He will be greatly missed.
