Alice Amanda (Holley) Carwie

Celebration of Life services for Alice Holley Carwie, 93, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the sanctuary of Christ Church Cathedral, 115 S. Conception St, Mobile, AL, 36062 with Priest Marshall Craver officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, AL. The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM in the Chapter Hall at Christ Church Cathedral. Alice Holley Carwie was born November 11, 1925 in Mobile, AL to the late Thomas and Ethel Murray Holley. She was called to her heavenly home on August 4, 2019 in Mobile, AL. Alice loved to sing in the Opera and was President of the Opera Guild. She was a graduate of Murphy, class of 43’ and Springhill, class of 1990. Alice was on the board of the Friends Magnolia Cemetery. She will be deeply missed by her friends and loved ones. Alice was preceded in passing by her parents; and her beloved husband; George Albert Carwie, Jr.. Left to cherish the beautiful memories Alice leaves behind will be her two sons: Thomas George Carwie and wife Davenna, David Albert Carwie, three grandchildren: Katheryn Lee Carwie, Abigail Rose Carwie, David Albert Carwie, Jr., a special family friend; Judy Sellers, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Honoring Alice as pallbearers will be Tracy Adam Haas, John Gregory Carwie, Christopher Stephen Carwie, David Albert Carwie, Jr., Michael George Prestia and Gary Najeeb Solomon. Memorials may be made in honor of Alice Holley Carwie to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Fannie Battles and Judy Sellers for the many years of dedicated care, friendships and compassion provided to Alice and the family during their great hours of need.
