Maryann Elizabeth Barritt

Maryann Elizabeth (Cates) Barritt, born May 30, 1931 in Gillette, WY to James F. Cates and Willa M. (Bell) Cates, departed this life peacefully surrounded by loving family on April 19, 2019 in Gold Bar, WA. She married Marvin M. Barritt on July 11, 1947 in Hardin, MT and they made their home in Clay Spur, WY for 7 years. They had 2 children, Elizabeth A. Barritt Fideline and Marvin C. Barritt. They moved to Gold Bar, WA in 1954. Maryann was very active in the Mountain Valley Chapel Church. She loved to work with the little children. She always made sure the birds were fed and loved making various crafts. Maryann is survived by sister Nancy Slattery (Jim), daughter Liz, son Chuck, 4 great-granddaughters, 4 grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and brothers Buddy, Jimmy, Raymond, and Timmy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 2-5pm, at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, WA 98272. A celebration of life will be held the following day, Thursday, April 25 at 2pm at Mountain Valley Chapel Open Bible Church, 230 Lewis Ave., Gold Bar, WA 98251. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Maryann's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org/donate.
