James Francis Anstett
May 23, 1930 – September 16, 2019

James F. Anstett was born on May 21, 1930 in Montrose, NY. He attended Hendrick Hudson High School where he was an accomplished drummer and xylophone player. Jim married Stella Rudy on September 23, 1950. He worked for Hudson Valley Fuel and retired from Burke Heat in 1992. He was a member of Westchester Service Managers Association. He was a 30 year active firefighter with Montrose Fire Department, and a Life Member of Cortlandt Engine Company. He and Stella moved to Wappingers Falls in 1992.
He was predeceased by his mother, Helen Plass and brother, Leroy Anstett. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Stella. Stella and Jim enjoyed many years together travelling to camping resorts around the country. They settled in a campground outside Lake George where they camped for many years to come. Jim is also survived by his son, Ronald (Barbara) Anstett and grandchildren James Anstett and Deana (Matt) Longden, and the light of his life, twin great-granddaughters, Tessa and Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 705 Shenandoah Ave., Peekskill, NY, 10566.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 10am-12pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Funeral Service will be held also on Thursday at 12pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
