Margaret Antonia Lemieux

MARGARET LEMIEUX Margaret Lemieux, born in Athabasca, Alberta on May 31, 1951, passed away, peacefully on June 11, 2018, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Nanaimo Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Margaret was one of twelve siblings born to Polish immigrants who settled in Canada in the 1930’s. Margaret leaves to mourn, her partner Marlin Wolfe, ex-spouse Andre Lemieux, four siblings, Alina, Irene, Alex and Earl, nieces and nephews, and many friends and business associates. Margaret moved to Gabriola in 1971. A highlight of her multi faceted career was her real estate profession where she excelled and made many lasting friends. She loved to garden, which she did until the last week of her life. In her youth she enjoyed golf, sailing and cycling. She made a delicious and potent martini, liked to entertain family and friends and made a mean salmon and potato pie. She will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Surf Lodge on Gabriola.
