Obituary of Catherine Strathearn Milsom
Catherine Strathearn Milsom was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 5, 1956. Catherine’s life was full of exceptional people and adventures. Accomplished in public relations and event planning, and bi-lingual, Catherine worked for many years for Telmex, Televisa, Acqua della Madonna and the Carlos Slim Family. While living and working all over the globe, from Mexico City to Rome, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale and Nashville, she collected beautiful things and memories from her far reaching travels. A wicked sense of humor, a huge heart, a discerning eye and a wonderful sense of style - along with a deep love of mortadella and margaritas! - endeared her to many. She was a world-class raconteuse and Rummikub player! Her greatest joy in recent years has been working at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management, especially for The Seminar In Monetary and Fiscal Policy and the High Level Economic Conference. She is predeceased by her parents, Geoffrey Hayward Milsom and Elizabeth Ann Hay Milsom. She is survived by her beloved Shih Tzu, Coco, and all of her lifelong friends who will miss her terribly. She wants to thank her dear friends and her care givers from Alive Hospice and Nurse Next Door. A celebration of her extraordinary life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Dewey Daane Seminar In Monetary and Fiscal Policy at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
