Esther Mae Hull

Esther Mae Hull passed away on July 03, 2019 at the age of 89 at Kirkwood Manor. She was born May 24, 1930 in New Braunfels, Tx. She is preceded in death by her parents Erwin H. & Linda (Fischer) Zipp, brother Leroy Zipp, husband Herbert Hull, daughter-in-law Rita O’Brien, son-in-law Stanley Vordenbaum, grandsons Travis Krueger and Derek Metcalf, close friends Milton Lemke and Bill Williams. She is survived by her children & spouses Gayle & Sid Metcalf, Jan & Dennis Thomas, Roger O’Brien, Douglas & Lyn O’Brien, Barbara Stainton, Karen Vordenbaum and Patricia Timmermann, along with 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren. Esther worked many years for Mission Valley Mills where she was a head grader in the shipping department. There she made many lifelong friends which became part of her extended family. Her love for adventure took her on many trips involving fishing and camping with her favorite place at the coast in Rockport or Port Aransas. She was a devoted animal lover and would rescue anything that found its way to her. Her green thumb was amazing, giving her many children and grandchildren a wide array of plants to fill their homes. Esther also loved to dance and would never turn down a chance to spin on the dance floor. She was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years and in several community groups that played cards and domino games weekly. She loved life and was always ready to listen & laugh at the numerous escapades of her growing clan. She will be forever loved and missed. Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2019 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Comal Cemetery.
