Margaret M. (Doyle) Lucas

Margaret (Doyle) Lucas, at 100, April 29, 2019 in Dedham, formerly of South Boston, Jamaica Plain and Port Charlotte, FL. Born February 23, 1919, at 501 East 7th Street, South Boston where she lived with a large extended family, including her three sisters, Mary, Helen and Agnes, all deceased, her brother Joseph of Weymouth and her cousin Frank Wellock (deceased). Married to her late husband, Joseph for over 53 years. They started their marriage in South Boston where they had 2 children, Joseph (deceased) and Mary Lyne of Arcadia, FL, moving to Jamaica Plain, they added eight more children: Gerard of Roslindale, Paul of Chicago, IL, Charles of West Roxbury, Margaret Belmonte of Beverly, Anne Pendleton of Medway, Joan Kennedy of Hyde Park, Regina MacLeod of West Roxbury, and Robert of Port Charlotte, FL. Grandmother of 18, great-grandmother of 18 and great-great-grandmother of 12. She enjoyed her many clubs, traveling with her sisters to Europe, Japan, Hawaii, Bermuda and her many road trips camping across the U.S. and Canada. A true thalassophile she also loved the sun on her face. She spent over 40 summers in Naples, Maine enjoying her spot on Tricky pond. She had the great fortune to live independently before her 96th year. Funeral Mass Friday May 3rd at 11:30am at Gate of Heaven Church, 615 East 4th Street, South Boston. Burial will be private. We are grateful for the care given to our mother at Newbridge on the Charles, Hebrew Senior Life where she resided since November 2018.
