Obituary of Jack N. Doty
On the morning of April 16th, 2019, Jack Norman Doty peacefully passed away in Oklahoma City, OK. Jack was born on October 7, 1944, to Jack Harrison and Irvil Jane Doty in Oklahoma City, OK. He traveled extensively throughout his childhood while his father served in the US Army. He received Coast Guard Hospital Corpsman training at Balboa Hospital in San Diego, CA during the Vietnam War era. On December 20, 1969, Jack married Christine Johnson and together they raised two children, Amber and Elizabeth. Jack worked for the State of Oklahoma Securities Commission for ten years. He was a survivor of the Oklahoma City Bombing on April 19, 1995. Jack loved rooting for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. He thoroughly enjoyed listening to music, especially (to his family's dismay) Bob Dylan and smooth jazz. He had a great affinity for literature, which he passed along to his children and grandchildren. He delighted in being a sounding board for his two daughters, and he treasured those conversations with all his heart. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife Christine, his daughter Amber and son-in-law Jeff, his granddaughters Andie, Keira, and Lilly; his daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law Dustin, and his grandson Harrison. Daddy, we love you more.
