Obituary of Clarence Wilbur Lewis
Clarence Wilbur Lewis, 92, of Louisburg, KS passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Clarence was born on February 13, 1927 in Leroy, KS to Roy and Sarah (Metzger). He married the love of his life Hazel N. Delaplain on August 13, 1945 in Burlington, KS. He was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He loved fishing, hunting, watching bluebirds and martins at his home on Grand Lake Afton, OK and traveling to all 50 states and abroad. His accomplishments were becoming a mason and retiring from Monarch Cement Co. after 31 years. Clarence is preceded in death by parents Roy and Sarah Lewis, daughter Betty Lou Caldwell and grandson Jason Lee Donovan, brothers John, Roy (Buck), Elmer and sister Claramay Mathias. He is survived by daughters Judy Donovan and her husband Terry of Olathe, KS and Tresea Hill and her husband Mike of Olathe, KS. Left behind to cherish his memory are four grandchildren: Tami Caldwell, Melynda Marquardt and her husband Jeff, Ryan Hill and his wife Melanie and Jared Hill and his wife Lisa. He will be sadly missed by 8 great grandchildren: Elysa, Kelsey, Braeden, Garrett, Miles, Burklee, Hampton and Waverly. Clarence is also survived by his brother-in-law Verle Delaplain and his wife Dorothy of Eugene, Oregon and close family friends Andy and Candy Kling, of Overland Park, KS.
