Obituary of Stanley Moors
Old Town – Stanley Leo Moors was born to Clifton and Anita Moors on December 20th, 1947. He passed away on July 29, 2019 at the age of 71 after a long illness. He leaves his three siblings, Joyce Moors of Weare, NH, Robert Moors and wife Roberta of Patterson, GA, and twin brother, Stephen Moors and wife Claudia of Stokesdale, SC. He also leaves behind his nephews Paul St. Peter, Matthew St. Peter, Stephen Moors Jr., Brandon Moors as well as his nieces, Monica (St. Peter) Pollard, Maria (St. Peter) Sappier, Kimberly (Moors) Miller. Stanley is predeceased by his mother, Anita (Conroy) Moors and his father, Clifton Moors. Stanley graduated from Old Town High School with the class of 1966. He enlisted in the United States Air Force following graduation and served his country for four years as an aircraft maintenance specialist. He was stationed in both Arizona and overseas in the Republic of South Korea. He was honorable discharged in August 24th, 1970. Stanley worked at Osram Sylvania in Bangor and then Diamond International until he left work to care for his father. He and his father ate at Denny’s and/or Governors daily for years where they made many good friends. Stanley enjoyed going to Bangor International with his father and watching the planes come and go. When Stanley’s father passed, he made the decision to get a dog. Before getting sick, Ike, his yellow lab, brought Stanley years of companionship and joy. Besides being with his dog, he enjoyed collecting guns, flight simulation, and working with his many computers. The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care given to Stanley during his final days and a special thanks to his dear friend, Amy Meehan, for always being there for Stanley. A celebration of life gathering will be held 11-1PM Saturday August 3, 2019 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town followed by a graveside ceremony with military honors at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
