Albert E. Marino

Albert E. Marino, 90, of Oneonta, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at AO Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta. He was born on November 5, 1928 in Oneonta, the son of Frank and Jennie (Rosetta) Marino. He married Margaret A. Jones on August 13, 1950 at the old St. Mary’s Church in Oneonta. Albert served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Oneonta VFW, the 6th Ward Athletic Club, and the Oneonta Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling with his brothers, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Marino of Oneonta; his children, daughter Debra Marino and her husband Daniel R. Ackermann of Port Charlotte, Florida, daughter Terri-Jo Marino and her husband Rick Clark of The Villages, Florida, son Albert W. and his wife Maureen Marino of Gainesville, VA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Veronica Marino of Cooperstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his daughter and son in law, Kathy Marino and Dennis Parker; his brothers, Ralph, Carl, Frank, Paulie, Ronnie, and Tommy Marino; as well as his sisters, Anna Marino, Dolly Angellotti, Mary Stanton, and Dolores Colone. Friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta, from 11 am to 1 pm, where a memorial service will take place immediately following at 1 pm, followed by military honors.
