Kevin "Bubby" Lee Briggs

Kevin Lee “Bubby” Briggs, 47, of Davenport passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 30, 2019 surrounded by his family at Albany Medical Center, Albany. He was born October 17, 1971 in Oneonta the son of Bernald and Vernadine (Montgomery) Briggs, Sr. A lifelong area resident, Kevin attended Charlotte Valley Central School. For many years, Kevin was a shop manager and mechanic at Patch of Heaven Farm, Oneonta and recently he was a manager for Auto Plus in Walton. On March 24, 2006, Kevin married Stacy Dougherty at the Davenport Town Hall. Kevin enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, tinkering and working on cars. He especially loved his Camero. But what brought Kevin the most joy was his family. He loved watching Andrew play sports and watching Kaylee riding horses. He always looked forward to family get-togethers. He will forever be remember for his quick wit and his endless supply of jokes. He was a member of the Schenevus Valley Masonic Lodge #592. Kevin is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Stacy Briggs, Davenport; 1 son & daughter-in-law, Andrew and Christina Briggs, Davenport and 1 daughter, Kaylee Briggs, Davenport; his mother, Vernadine Briggs, Oneonta; 5 brothers, Leslie Briggs, Brad Briggs, Bernald, Jr. & Leona Briggs, John & Donna Briggs and Michael & Vanessa Scarimbolo all of Oneonta; 1 sister, Dawn Briggs, Oneonta; sister & brother-in-law, Angela & James Hedman, Davenport; brother-in-law, Jamie Dougherty, Davenport; nieces & nephews, Tracy & Matt, April & Jarrod, Alex & Caitlyn, Craig & Taylor, Brett & Mari, Travis & Karley, Jason & Georgia, Shawn, Logan, Krysta, Tyler and Ella; as well as many friends & loved ones. He was predeceased by his dad, Bernald Briggs, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Linda A. Rathbun. Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta. There will be a Masonic service at 7:30PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 1:00PM in the West Davenport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathy Brumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Charlotte Valley Cemetery, West Davenport.
