Madolin Irene Michaletz

Madolin Gilmore Michaletz, 99, of Oneonta died Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home, Lake Katrine, NY. Born in Roscoe, New York the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Wilcox) Gilmore. She married Marvin Michaletz of Sidney on March 01, 1942 in Roscoe. Mr. Michaletz predeceased her on March 17, 1986. Madolin was a graduate of Roscoe Central School. She worked several years at Bendix-Scintilla, Sidney in the cafeteria, as well as at Kasier Silk Mill in Walton during World War II and the Oneonta School Systems and retired after 23 years. As a member of the Emmons Methodist Church she served as Chairman of the Board for many years. She was a member and a past President of the C.S.E.A. Union while employed at the school. Madolin was also a member of The Business Women’s Club of Oneonta and a member of the AARP. She loved traveling, camping, BINGO, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Madolin is survived by many loving and kind nieces and nephews and their families and friends. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Arthur, Leo, John and Robert Gilmore. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta with the Rev. Doug Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. There will be no calling hours.
