Gwynneth V. Yamamoto

Gwen Yamamoto, of Orleans, passed away at Cape Cod Hospital on September 4th.
Born in the UK in March of 1925, she was a registered nurse in World War 2, an artist and a student of Hans Hoffman's non-objective school of Art in Provincetown in the 1950s. Her husband was Taro Yamamoto artist and painter who also was a student of the Hoffman school. They met in Paris in 1952, quickly fell in love and traveled though Europe studying Art. They came to Provincetown that year and had a gallery there in the 1960s. Gwen worked as a nurse at the original 40 bed Cape Cod Hospital in the 1970s. A life long nurse and artist she was known for her creativity, kindness and loving spirit. Gwen was also a long time member of the Assembly of God in South Wellfleet.
