Jane M. Pirnat

Jane M. (Acker) Pirnat of Chatham, MA died peacefully in the early hours of May 25 at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by family. She was born in New Canaan, CT in 1926, the youngest of George and Signa Acker’s four children. She lived with her parents and siblings in Sheffield, MA and Stamford, CT, and was a graduate of Stamford High School. Jane married Leo J. Pirnat in 1946 and they moved to Pittsfield, MA to raise a family. They relocated to Cape Cod in 1968 and settled in South Orleans. Jane was a homemaker and secretary. She enjoyed square dancing, knitting and needlepoint, and was an accomplished bridge player. Jane is survived by her loving daughter Nancy Michniewicz and her husband David of Brewster, MA, loving son Gary Pirnat and his wife Michele of LaMirada, CA, daughter Judith Smith of Newport News, VA, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Leo, and daughter Sandra Pirnat of South Dennis, MA. A private, graveside service will be held at Orleans Cemetery on May 29.
