George Stanley Jarnutowski

George Stanley Jarnutowski, 94 of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Friday June 14, 2019, Flag Day. He was born on May 28,1925 in Philadelphia, PA to Agnes and Stanley Jarnutowski. On June 22, 1946 he married his cherished Wife Ann Stasney and for 63 years until her passing in 2010. He was affectionately known as “Hurricane George” for his passion and determination to fix or settle a purpose. He is survived by his Daughter Rosemarie J. Turner and Husband Bruce; sons, George, Paul and Robert. His Grandchildren Jeannette Leto, Husband Jason, Rachel Turner, Alisia Hernandez, Husband Lucas, Daniel Jarnutowski and Ex-Wife Veronica. His Great Grandchildren Jared, Angelina Gianna Leto and Alyssa Jarnutowski. He is predeceased by his son John. He moved from Lower Bucks County, Pa. to Palm Coast in 1980 where he was active and helped build the VFW Post 8696. George was a hero who honorably and proudly fought for his country in the US Marine Corp during WWII with the Anti-Aircraft Gun Crew 864. Landed in the Marshall, Mariana and Palau Islands. Served with the ‘Carleton Raiders” in Africa, Special Ops Battalion, 9th Marine Division Marine 17th Anti-Aircraft Division “Bulldogs” and received the Bronze Star. He ended all his conversations with “God Bless America”. He worked as a skilled Welder by Trade. He was a devoted Father and Grandfather who Loved his family deeply and taught them independence and Strength. A visitation for George will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 North Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 am, Burial will occur Wednesday June 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Street, Bushnell, Fl.
