Michael de Leon Our beloved most precious Michael joined his Creator on September 13, 2019. In two months, on November 11, 2019, he would have celebrated his 46th birthday. A joyful sunbeam in our lives, Michael loved and cared for us and his family, without measure. He was a devoted husband, partner, and best friend to me, Emily, his wife of 21 years. A warm and affectionate father to us, his children, he anticipated and provided for our needs, gave us guidance in his wise, gentle way. He endeavored to make our world bigger and richer with knowledge and experiences. Throughout his life, Michael nurtured a profound aspiration to follow a line of connection between him and God. This aspiration was expressed through an undeniable quality of purity in him. It came through as sincerity in his words and actions, generosity towards others, and a kindly attitude to everyone he met. He was always wanting to give and to make things good for other people. We, Emily, his wife, and his children, Liane, Lyra and JM, and the rest of our family, thank you for comforting us in our fathomless grief. Michael’s remains are cremated. Funeral is on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel located at 1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V 1A6. Funeral rites begin with a viewing at 12 pm, followed by a service at 2 pm. Friends and family are welcome to share memories during the reception right after the service.
