Obituary of Peggy Jane Cumming
Cumming, Peggy Jane (June 8,1944 - May 7, 2019) Peggy (or Amma to many) passed peacefully in her sleep as a result of her struggles with lung cancer and leukemia. She was at home with family, being loved and cared for. Daughter of Norm and Madge Marlow (both deceased) and sister to Bill (deceased) (Linda) and Sharon (Neil), Peggy is survived by her loving husband Bob and children John (Karrie, children Maggie, Duncan, Topher and Dee) and Megan (Lee, children Aaron and Martin). Amma adored her family and took delight in adventures and experiences with her grandchildren. Peg enthusiastically shared her joy of activities with beloved friends. She traveled to the far corners of the world and enjoyed the outdoors; hiking, camping, cycling and cross-country skiing with friends. Peggy enjoyed being part of the swimming community and was a regular at Meech Lake and the Y. She was an accomplished athlete, with medals from World Swimming and Dragon Boat championships. Peggy exhibited an artistic side. Her paintings hang in her friends’ homes, she enjoyed taking grandchildren to the theater and her love for photography and gardening have brightened our world. As a lifelong teacher, she influenced the minds of middle school children for over thirty years. Peggy was an amazing, impactful friend to many and was a loved and adored wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed dearly. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. No funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lung Cancer Canada or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada are appreciated. Now grab your friends and go play outside!
