Claire Ruth Lewis

Claire Ruth Lewis, age 90, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, the second most aggressive form of dementia. She was born December 7, 1928 in Mesquite, Texas to John Earl and Emma Lillian (Johnson) Patterson. Claire was preceded in passing by her parents; and her sister Louise Graves and her husband Bill Graves. She is survived by her daughters Roxann Hardin, Michele Hendrix, and Tanya Yeager; as well as 16 grandchildren. Claire graduated from Mesquite High School. She worked for over 20 years as an auditor for La Quinta hotels and retired from the hospitality industry. She attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Alabama. Claire was a gifted artist and taught others to paint. She also had a passion for sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, and enjoyed traveling. Claire's greatest legacy in life was her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who are rejoicing at the reunion in heaven between Claire and the family that has gone before her.
