Janice Annette Baggett Smith, 81, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away September 3, 2019. She was born in Cleburne County, Georgia on January 15, 1938.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Celebration of Annette’s Life at 3 p.m. at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
Annette graduated from Fairview High School. She was married to Edwin L. Smith on December 27, 1956 and devoted most of her adult life to homemaking. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, and her passions were her family, her church, singing, and signing for the deaf.
Annette was predeceased by her husband, Edwin, and her parents, Henry Albert Baggett and Fannie Ruth Chambers Baggett.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Smith Davidson; two sons, Gregory A. Smith and Kenneth W. Smith; four grandchildren, Max Davidson, Rachel Davidson, Marianne Smith, and Ryan Smith; two sisters, Glenda Brooks and Patricia King; and one brother, Wendall Baggett.
