Kenneth Lamar Cummings

Kenneth Cummings, age 70, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born July 16, 1948 to Grover D. Cummings and Maria Elana “Margie” Caballero Cummings. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Kenneth was a 1966 graduate of Pontotoc High School and was self-employed. He was a member of the MS Cattleman’s Association. Kenneth was in the MS National Guard. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, riding four wheelers and spending time with his friends and grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Browning and Rev.Greg Herndon officiating; burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park in Verona. There will be no graveside services at the cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Presley Cummings; his daughter, Kym Daniel (Brady) of New Albany, MS; two sons, Scott Cummings (Becki) and Cody Cummings (Kayla), both of Pontotoc, MS; a sister, Gloria Cartwright (Terry) of Corinth, MS; a brother, Bob Cummings (Lynn) of Richland, MS; five grandchildren, Hayden Cummings (Heather), Heston Daniel, Hayes Daniel, Adalyn Cummings and Audrey Cummings; and one great-granddaughter, Haisley Faith Cummings. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Mike Westmoreland, Billy Terry, Ellis Reeder, Travis Pickering, Ted Foster and Bobby Duke. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Belk, Erskine Barton, Greg Hall, David Hall, Sammy Cruse and the “8 o’clock breakfast men at Butcher Block”. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home and from 10AM until service time on Tuesday at Oak Hill Baptist Church.
