Obituary of Elena Alessondro Adam
Elena was an Italian born in Alexandria, Egypt, immigrated to the United States in 2004 and became the oldest in her family to become a US Citizen. A resident in Wake County since her immigration, she was currently residing in Raleigh. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Marianne and Ramzi Tanas, Christine and Sherif Riad and Silvana Tanas; by her five grandchildren that were the joy of her heart: Jacob Tanas, Juliana Tanas, Jocelyn Tanas, Adam Riad and Natalie Riad; and by other family and friends. Elena was preceded in her departure from this world by her parents: Alessondro Adam and Atanasia Persemlis; by her son, Joseph Goubran, who died at the young age of sixteen due to a horrific accident; and by her husband: Antoun Youssef Goubran, a very well known Egyptian Businessman in Cairo, Egypt. Elena was a caring mother and grandmother who believed that Family always came first. Until the last moment of her life, she was strong, stubborn and a fighter; while also patient and never complaining. She accepted God's will and believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and kept her sorrows to herself. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh), with a Chapel Service to begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The burial ceremony will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Saint Sharbel Catholic Church - 600 Mt. Vernon Church Road - Raleigh, NC 27614 "I am the Resurrection and the Life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who believes in me will never die." John 11:25-26
