In Loving Memory December 20, 1926-June 4, 2019 Dorothy Olivia (Warren) Martin was born on December 20, 1926, in Roanoke, Virginia, and she departed this world for Heavenly Eternal Glory on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. She married the love of her life, Reverend Paul Otis Martin, where they shared a life for 53 years. They were married in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and moved to Reading, Pennsylvania, where they raised their children Paulette and David. Dorothy owned and successfully operated Dot’s luncheonette at the corner of Second St. and Buttonwood St., in Reading, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed life to the fullest, especially when she was sitting on her porch greeting and welcoming all who passed by. She also enjoyed reading her Bible daily and providing words of comfort and encouragement in her capacity as Pastor’s wife, at the Pine Street Church of God. Dorothy was very active in the community serving on the Neighborhood Crime Watch program and a volunteer for a program called β€œHELP” which was a call-in suicide prevention helpline. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Warren Sr and Bertha (Poindexter) Warren; her husband, Reverend Paul; her daughter, Paulette; two brothers Thomas, Jr. and C. Odell Warren and a sister, Dorethea (Warren) Martin. The memories of Dorothy (Libby) Martin, also known as Aunt Dot, will be cherished by her brother, Andrew of California and her sister, Alta Mae of North Carolina. Her children: David (Rita) Martin of Utah, and her grandsons: Jermaine Martin of Pennsylvania, Rodney Martin (LaShaun) of Maryland, and Darren Cooper (Nerreda) of Washington. Three great-grandchildren: Ciara, Alexis, and Sarala Martin all of Pennsylvania and five additional great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
