Obituary of Frieda Mary Bellegarde
Frieda Mary Bellegarde was born on December 10, 1935 at the File Hills Hospital on Peepeekisis First Nation. On June 22, 2018 at the age of 82, Frieda passed away peacefully, at the All Nations Healing Hospital in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan, with family by her side. Frieda was an excellent seamstress. She could look at a picture of a dress and sew the exact dress without a pattern. She could design and sew anything. She enjoyed gardening, loved flowers – especially roses, poinsettias and her raspberry bushes. Her talent as a seamstress and a gardener touched the hearts of many. Her house like her heart was always open and warm. People would come from near and far to ask her to do sewing for them or to visit and enjoy her company. Frieda was famous for her beautiful garden, of which she shared its bountiful harvest with family and friends. Most of all, she loved her family and she loved being a mom. Welcoming her to heaven are her partner and best friend Robert (Bob) Flanders; Mother Olive Bellegarde; Father William Bellegarde; Brothers Stephen and James Bellegarde; Sister Alma Bellegarde; Grandson Ashley Amyotte and Great Grandson Lex Bellegarde, and those loved ones and friends who have gone before her. Celebrating her life are her children, Marla Amyotte; Walter (Cathy) Amyotte; Barry (Doris) Amyotte; Brent Amyotte; Bev Bellegarde (Philip Auger); Stephanie Montgrand (Jason) and Madisyn. 23 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren. Her siblings, Doris Bellegarde; Shirley Kobetitch; Frances (Alfred) Montgrand, Jean Bellegarde, Tom (Ann) Bellegarde; Keith (Karen) Bellegarde and Terry Bellegarde(Brenda). Frieda is also remembered by her close friend and relative Lyla Lavallee ;numerous nieces, nephews, friends (including Bingo Buddies) and family members.Frieda’s children would like to Thank the incredible staff at the All Nations Healing Hospital for their tender, loving care of our Mom, during the past three weeks in palliative care and the gift of their encouragement and support during this difficult time.
