Rachel Abbie Clarke

Rachel Abbie Clarke (nee Hodgdon), born April 1, 1915 at Taylorville, AB, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Regina, SK at the age of 103 years. Rachel was predeceased by her husband Warren Dease Clarke in 2003. She is survived by her son Sheldon Clarke and daughter-in-law Lynn; granddaughter Tady (Bob Bjerke) and great-grandchildren Riel, Griffin, and Oona; granddaughter Tara (Michael) Arbez and great-grandchilren Caileigh, Abbe, Bella, and Quinnlyn; grandson Aaron and great-grandchildren Cohen and Brazil. Rachel was also predeceased by her brothers Lawrence, Raymond, Richard, and Morris; and sisters Lola and Leah. She is also survived by her three younger sisters Marion, Carol, and Faye. Rachel spent a good portion of her life in Northern Alberta, serving as a school teacher’s assistant for the Alberta Department of Education, and as Office manager for the Agriculture Canada Research Station at Fort Vermilion, AB. After retirement in 1994, Rachel and Warren moved to Regina to be closer to Sheldon and family. A Memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, in Regina, SK. Interment will occur at a later date in Cardston, AB where Rachel will rest with her father and mother, Jerome and Alice Hodgdon (nee Higgins), and siblings.
