Obituary of Wilson Gruspe Acuario
Wilson Gruspe Acuario passed away in the presence of loved ones on October 4, 2019, at the age of 71 at Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA. He was born April 20, 1948, in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines to Quirico Albiento Acuario and Elena Gruspe Acuario. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the East with a major in Accounting. In the Philippines, Wilson worked for the National Grain Authority. He came from the Philippines to Seattle in August 1976. Wilson worked for the United States Postal Service for 34 years until he retired in 2013. Wilson’s passion in life was music and performance. He played various instruments, including the guitar and harmonica. Wilson showcased his talents by forming the Sensations band, where he sang and played the bass guitar. Wilson also displayed his innate rhythmic talents through dance. He performed ballroom and line dancing and taught as a dance instructor. Wilson's hobbies included billiards, bowling, chess, and DJ'ing. In addition, Wilson was actively involved in his community and was on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Mabuhay Lions Club. Wilson was happiest simply spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life and best friend, Neida Duro Acuario. Wilson dedicated his life to ensuring his three sons, Jewelson, Adonis, and Eric, could have the best life they could through his sacrifices and hard work. He cherished life and lived it with love, humor, and commitment to his family. Wilson’s family and friends were drawn by his charisma and will miss his zest for life, honesty, storytelling, and wisdom. Family and friends trusted Wilson for advice, because he always wanted everybody to be the best version of themselves. Wilson was predeceased by his father Quirico Albiento Acuario, mother Elena Gruspe Acuario, and two brothers, Wilfredo and Alejandrino, and niece Joanne. Wilson is survived by his wife of 39 years, Neida Duro Acuario; three sons, Jewelson, Adonis, and Eric; two daughter-in-laws, Kai and Ellen; two grandsons, Gavin and Sawyer; two brothers Patrocinio and Saturnino; two sisters Filipinas and Virginia; three nephews, Pat Jr, Arthur, and Ricky; and five nieces, Jocelyn, Jacqueline, Venice, Vivien, and Christine. Visitation and vigil was on Thursday, October 10th, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home, located at 350 Monroe Ave NE, Renton, WA 98056. Catholic funeral mass was held on October 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 416 S 4th St, Renton, WA 98057. Reception and celebration of Wilson’s life followed.
