Tommy Joe Zuniga departed this life peacefully on July 18, 2019 at the age of 48. Tommy was born in Bakersfield, CA. to Jesus and Mary Zuniga on July 29, 1970. Mr. Zuniga dedicated his early years enlisted in the U.S. Army and later spent many years as a Bexar County Juvenile Detention Correction Officer. His daughters were the love of his life and enjoyed weightlifting with his “swolemate” Carlos, his brother. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and loyal friend that will be dearly missed.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father Jesus and his brother Leonard and is survived by his mother Mary, his beautiful daughters Samantha Zuniga, Stazy Zuniga, Trisha Zuniga and Jackie Zuniga, his sister Lynda Zuniga, his brother Carlos and his wife Lilia Zuniga and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Mr. Zuniga will include a Visitation from 6-9 pm with a 7pm Rosary at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 8, 2019 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10 am with a Committal service to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Military Honors to commemorate his loyalty and dedication to the United States Army.
