Homer Walter Christner

H. Walter Christner, 93, of Sarasota, Florida died on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Royalton, New York on January 17, 1926, son of the late Daniel Christner and Alta Meyer Christner.
Walt Christner was the oldest son of ten children. He was a good business man with a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children. He also, loved the LORD with all of his heart and passed that devotion on to his children as well. He was an active member of Sarasota Community Church, formerly Bahia Vista Mennonite Church. Besides being an avid reader his passions included genealogy and story writing.
Walt is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie (Miller) Christner; four children, Bernie (Cathy), Dave (JoEtta), Donna, and Mike (Betsy). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Virginia Erb, Mrs. Betty Miller, Mrs. Martha Albrecht, Mrs. Shirley Fry, and Mrs. June Risser. He is pre-deceased by four brothers; Theodore, Leo, James and Daniel.
A service for the celebration of life will be held Tuesday October 8, 2019 at Sarasota Community Church, 4041 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota. Visitation at 4:00 PM and service at 5:00 PM.
