Obituary of Kathleen "Kay" Elliott
Kathleen Elliott passed away peacefully at the age of 89 with her family by her side on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Kay was born on Oct. 23, 1929 in Central Butte, SK. Kay leaves behind her loving husband, married for 66 wonderful years, Kenneth Earl Elliott. Sister Norma Roed of Vernon, B.C, children Don (Tina) of Candle Lake, Karen of Saskatoon, Ian (Marianne) of Humboldt and Alan of Saskatoon, three grandchildren Erin (Randal) Maloy of Glaslyn, Heather Elliott of Saskatoon, Scott Eliiott of Saskatoon and her great grandchild James Maloy of Glaslyn. She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Arthur Robinson, sisters Laura (Norm) Peace and daughter-in-law Glenna Elliott. Kay trained to be a nurse at the Ottowa Civic Hospital where she started her career as a matron at the Lanigan Hospital in 1951 then moved to Saskatoon and worked as a nurse at the Royal University Hospital. She loved word and number games and her primary interest was making sure that her family was safe, happy and healthy. Mom enjoyed travelling with dad and they made many trips to warm places during the winter. She enjoyed family vacations and spent many summers camping at Saskatchewan lakes. Mom loved to research and find the answers to any questions we came up with. She always had an atlas handy to follow where family and friends travelled and the locations of world events. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the neurology department at RUH. Thank you to Dr. Marushak for many years of care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations in Kay’s name can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. 1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
