Robert David Rusch

Robert D Rusch, 88 of Gering, Nebraska died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Loveland, Colorado. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Scottsbluff with Bishop Brent Rawlings officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm at Bayard Cemetery in Bayard, Nebraska with military honors by the Nebraska Army National Guard and Bayard Honor Guard. Visitation will be Friday from 3-6 pm at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Robert was born on December 19, 1930 in Garden City, Kansas to Fred and Lela Mae (Booth) Rusch. He graduated from Bayard High School. He entered the U.S. Army on July 12, 1948 and was honorably discharge on May 19, 1952. Robert married Shirley J Rose on September 23, 1953 in Kimball, Nebraska and made their home in Bayard, Nebraska. He was a construction superintendent for numerous years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include his children Lonnie (Joyce) Rusch of California, Carol Lynne of Colorado, Leslie ReNee (Reid Simonsen) of Utah and Robert Garlan of Nebraska;16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Fredrich and Leo, two sisters Darlene (Rusch) Weiner and Josephine (Rusch) Green, daughter Terry Kim (Rusch) Tomkinson, and grandson Garlan Lee Voris.
