Eva Maria Pedraza

“Eva Maria Pedraza falleció al anochecer del pasado 31 de Julio en Harbor Hospice en Houston, Texas. Eva nació y residió en Barranquilla, Colombia, desde su nacimiento hasta cuando vino con su hermano Jose Miguel en 1978 a residir en Texas con su hermano mayor Roberto y su cunada Fanny. A Eva le precedieron su padre Roberto y su madre Dalila. Eva fue una extraordinaria mujer de muchos talentos: excelente maestra de niños de edad pre escolar, talento para la modistería y el bordado, gran vocación para la preparación de alimentos, entre otros, pero se destaca entre todos su valor humano como persona que ofreció una bienvenida cálida y servicial a quienes se acercan a la Iglesia de Holy Family en Missouri City donde encontraron en ella la bienvenida del Cristo que buscaban. A Eva le sobreviven sus hermanos Roberto, Fanny y Jose Miguel; sus sobrinos Robert Francis y Norma Pedraza y su sobrina-nieta Gabriella Beatriz; sus sobrinos Emily Eve y Scott Hudson y sus sobrinos nietos Elias y Leo; y sus sobrinos Lidia y Franklin McMahan y sus sobrinas nietas Zoe and Aria.” Eva Maria Pedraza went to our Lord, the evening of July 31st at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas. Eva was born and lived in Barranquilla, Colombia all her life prior to her arrival with her younger brother Jose Miguel in 1978 to Texas having decided to join her older brother Roberto and sister-in-law Fanny in the United States of North America. She is predeceased by her father Jose Roberto and her mother Dalila Pedraza. Eva was an extraordinary woman of many talents: excellent teacher of preschool children, talent for embroidering and dressmaking, and food preparation, among others, but her quality as a human being was her most important gift. She always extended a warm welcome to those who came to Holy Family Parish searching for a Christ that they found in her. Eva is survived by her brother Roberto and his wife Fanny and her brother Jose Miguel; by her nephew Robert Pedraza and his wife Norma and her grandniece Gabriella; by her niece Emily Eve Hudson, her husband Scott and grandnephews Elias and Leo; and by her niece Lidia McMahan, her husband Franklin and grandnieces, Zoe and Aria. In lieu of flowers her family asks for voluntary donations for one of Eva’s dearest charitable organization.
