Obituary of Carol Ann Mayer
“I love you with all my heart.” Carol Ann Mayer passed away peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2019. She was 72. The world was a better place with her in it. Stockton was always her home, where she graduated from Lincoln High School, met the love of her life, married him, and raised her family. She was born there to Mr. and Mrs. Leroy and Jessie Judd (deceased). Carol left a legacy of unconditional love to her family. She is survived by her constant companion and devoted husband of 51 years, Barry, her daughters Marla McIntosh of Stockton and Missy O’Neal of Park City, Utah, her sons-in-law Michael McIntosh and Shannon O’Neal, her grandchildren Courtney Cranston, Zac O’Neal, Jessie O’Neal, Catherine Cranston, and McKenna McIntosh. Her sisters Yvonne Perrin and Cindy Stevenson miss her greatly, she was their rock and their bridge. She loved her nieces, Paige Baumbach, Diana Speare, and Sarah Stevenson, and nephew, Patrick Mayer. Many thought of her as their second mom. In fact, Grandma loved almost everyone, almost everywhere. She was pure kindness, starting with her welcoming, beautiful smile and the caring words that always followed. Knowing her was to feel love, certain that in her eyes you could do no wrong. Her home was a sanctuary for her family and a monument of her devotion to them. Her whole life she was more concerned about others than herself, always turning the other cheek and wanting the best for everyone. Almost as much as she loved her family and people in general, she loved friends, pets, good food, shopping, and travel. Family vacations camping or in Aptos, Kirkwood, Hawaii or Puerto Vallarta and shopping trips to the City were full of fun and laughter. She traveled up and down California as a devoted fan of whatever sports her granddaughters were playing, made it to Utah for more than a few games, and visited every other spot her family lived from San Diego to England. Her memorial service will be held Friday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1515 Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton; see De Young Memorial Chapel and Dignitymemorial.com for details. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Carol’s memory to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where she delivered her girls, volunteered as a “Pink Lady,” and was cared for over the years.
