Lawrence E. Untener

Lawrence E. Untener of Paramus NJ passed away on July 31, 2019, at 90 years old. The son of Mary and Joseph Untener, Lawrence was born on April 30, 1929. He served in the United States Air Force from 1948-1952 during the Korean War and married the love of his life, Nancy Costa, on January 2, 1951. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 67 years, and his 5 children... Stephanie Hirsch (and her late husband, Michael), Jayne Phillips and husband Robert, Jennifer McTigue and husband Thomas, Darlene Stuber and husband Wendell, and his only son, Scott Untener and wife Suzanne. He is also survived by 13 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Lawrence worked as an import/export sales manager at Farrand Controls for many years and ended his career in sales at Universal Electric/Magnetec as sales manager. Lawrence was a devoted husband and father. He was an avid sports fan with a true love for the New York Yankees and the New York football Giants. Lawrence was a natural craftsman, displaying his artistic ability through sketches and complete renovation of our childhood home. If there is one word to describe Lawrence, it would be “extraordinary.” Visitation will be held at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home located at 177 Rte 59, Suffern, New York 10901 on Tuesday August 6, 2019 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. A mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated at Saint Anthony’s Church, Nanuet, New York on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at 11:30 AM with private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to United Hospice.
