Obituary of Aktar Haroon Buksh
Aktar Haroon Ahmed Gani Buksh OCTOBER 25, 1951 – JUNE 2, 2018 Aktar Haroon Ahmed Gani Buksh was born on October 25th, 1951. He moved to Canada on February 21st, 1965 from Suva, Fiji when he was 13. He was the son of Usman Gani Buksh and Halima Buksh. He was the brother to his elder sister Sham and younger brothers Ahmed and Raymond. Husband to Debbie and Father to Cliff, Tiffany, Sabrina, Ashley and Brandon. Grandfather to Kaelin, Zahir, Jacob, Quinn, Dani and Zahara. Aktar passed away peacefully with Friends and Family by his side on the evening of June 2nd, 2018. He was aware that his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer left his doctors without treatment options. He accepted the news and had no regrets given the full life he had led. His greatest concern was spending as much time as possible with family and friends and ensuring that his Wife Debbie would be looked after. He was hopeful that he could see his youngest daughter Ashley marry her fiancé Evan, that wish went unfulfilled. His cancer advanced rapidly but throughout the short time from diagnosis to his passing he was surrounded by many dear friends and family who were deeply impacted by their relationship with this very gregarious and endearing man. As someone that appeared so stern to some, he was the most generous and giving soul to those he cared for. His door was always open (literally) and he always made time to help friends and family. As someone who truly had his priorities straight, lived his life slow and always took the time to enjoy the people around him. He was intimidated by no one and fiercely loyal and protective to those he loved. He thrived on getting a great deal, better yet if he could acquire one for someone else. Known by many in his youth, and well, let's face it later in life as well, as someone not to be messed with, those close to him definitely saw that tough exterior melt and soften in the presence of his grandkids. Shuttle service to school and games, coach and advocate, supporter and cheering section, nurturer and occasional drill sergeant, it was obvious to everyone this was his greatest joy. In both his life and his passing Aktar, inspired many life lessons in both how he lived his life and how gracefully he departed. We welcome your pictures, stories and insights into the Life and times of Aktar Buksh who will be missed greatly and remembered fondly by many.
