Karen Lee York

It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Lee York announces her passing on Saturday, April 28th, 2018, at the age of 63 years. Karen fought bravely for many years and died peacefully at Delta Hospice. While Karen was taken from us far too early, she lived her life to the fullest. Her brother, Wayne, summed it up beautifully… “She was the one with the most energy. She was the first to open her home to guests. She loved preparing a meal or snacks for others. She was quick to lend a helping hand and give a smile to others. She was the most outgoing. She was a gambler in the casinos, but not in life. She was lucky and a frequent winner in many ways. She was willing to go out on limbs and try new things, but her sensibilities always kept her well grounded. She was independent, she was fun. She loved easily, but didn't fall in love without careful consideration. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and person. She packed a lot of living, loving and friendships into her 63 years”. Karen will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Ryan and Craig; her daughters-in-law Samantha and Emily; her grandchildren Kaitlynn, Jacob, Cecily and Carter; her two sisters Nancy and Deanna, and her brother Wayne as well as many close friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 25th at 1:00pm at the Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28 Ave, Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Karen may be made to the Delta Hospice Society (www.DeltaHospice.org) or to B.C. Cancer Foundation (https://bccancerfoundation.com).
